Classes will be held at 1009 North Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach


Summer Youth Conservatory Program 2014 (Ages 8-11, 12-17)

WHEN:

Summer Camp Session I: Acting Emphasis

June 9-July 3. (Showcase July 3)

Culminates in a showcase of student work (Scenes, songs, monologues, pantomimes)

 

Summer Camp Session II: Musical Theatre Emphasis. Culminates in a Musical! Musical TBA.

July 7-August 1. (Showcase July 31.)

 

Camp is Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Drop off starts at 8:30am, Pick up goes until 5:30pm.


 

WHAT:

Students may participate for half a day (morning or afternoon) or full day.

Mornings consist of improvisation, theatre games, audition technique, musical theatre dance, singing, pantomime, clowning, speech & diction, focus exercises, theatre etiquette, theatrical make up classes, ensemble work and our famous improv Olympics! 

 

Afternoons consist of working on the showcase.  For the acting emphasis, this means working on scenes & monologues one on one with an instructor in a classroom setting.  For the musical theatre emphasis, this means working on the choreography, songs and scenes for the musical. Instructors are Bob Carter, Adriana Zabala, Sarah Kenny, Kathleen Kenny, Nathan Stubbs. 

 

We break an hour for lunch.  Students may bring a packed lunch (fridge and microwave available) or purchase snack and small lunches at the theatre.  Monday they may order from Burger King and Friday is Jimmy Johns Subs day!
