ACTOR’S WORKSHOP AND REPERTORY COMPANY LAUNCHES CAPITAL RAISING CAMPAIGN

The acting company needs funding to move into a new building in order to meet its fast growth.

February 2, 2015, West Palm Beach, FL – Actor’s Workshop and Repertory Company (Actor’s Rep) is pleased to announce the official launch of its capital fundraising campaign to allow the non-profit to establish a permanent, bigger facility in the downtown West Palm Beach area.

Actor’s Rep has been training and developing actors through scene development since 1980,but it is now forced to turn away students from its programs because it has outgrown its current space at 1009 N. Dixie Highway.

The campaign will be the most ambitious fundraising endeavor in the organization’s 30+ year history, as it seeks to prepare the new space, cement the solid endowment of the facility for future generations, and continue building the organization’s programs. A bigger space will allow it to expand and operate in a more profitable manner.

“If we had a facility as bright and as beautiful as the future of the students who study here, we’d be unstoppable,” said Kathleen Kenny, Actor’s Rep instructor and education coordinator.

Currently, Actor’s Rep has three divisions:

The Actor’s Workshop creates and provides a workspace for local actors to train by means of study, exercise and critique, culminating in work on stage as professional actors.

The Youth Actors Guild is a multicultural group of highly trained, dedicated and talented young students of the theatre who donate their time as production assistants providing support and service to its not-for-profit professional theatre. In return for their time, they receive free classes.

The Youth Academy consists of students – ranging from 5 to 18 years old – who pursue their theatrical training at Actor’s Rep. Many of the students attend the local arts magnet schools, such as G-Star, BAK Middle School of the Arts and the Alexander W. Dreyfoos High School of the Performing Arts.
