This 6 week class is for anyone who wants to learn how to turn their stories into screenplays. Students will learn the fundamentals of screenplay story structure, formatting, and how to think like a screenwriter. This class is open to beginners, but students should come in with some form of storytelling or writing experience (poetry, creative writing, playwriting, acting, improv, etc). Students will leave the class with one short film script and the necessary tools to begin a full length feature screenplay!
Required: A script writing software like Final Draft or Celtx ( Celtx is free).
Optional reading: Save the Cat The Last Book on Screenwriting You’ll Ever Need by Blake Snyder
This class will offered online through Zoom. You will receive an invitation link via the email you provide to the online session. Specific directions will be supplied.
